Diesel Dash is an eCommerce site that ships diesel engine parts, oil, kits, and equipment to mechanics, truck drivers, and other diesel operators across the country. Since Forthea took on Diesel Dash as an SEO client in February 2021, dieseldash.com has experienced explosive and ongoing organic growth.

Diesel Dash’s business model filled a niche in the diesel engine service industry by providing access to tens of thousands of products available for quick shipping to customers. By improving the technical performance of the site and optimizing product pages for search, Forthea positioned dieseldash.com to reach their target customer and dominate within that niche.

SEO Strategy Drives Organic E-Commerce Results

Our SEO experts developed a comprehensive plan to improve the organic performance of the site, with the ultimate goal of increasing revenue. Some initiative that led to success were:

  • Performed regular site crawls and made ongoing recommendations for technical fixes, including JavaScript and CSS file optimization, image compression, and corrections to 3xx, 4xx, and 5xx internal links. [Figure 4]
  • Identified and corrected duplicate product pages creating duplicate content errors.
  • Performed bulk site speed audits using BrightEdge’s Instant Page Speed Performance tool to identify key opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimized and expanded the thin content on product category pages based on keyword research from the Competitive Analysis tool.

Since program start, organic traffic increased an average of 25% each month. At almost 16.5k organic visits in March 2022, that month’s traffic was 602% higher than in March 2021 and 1,707% higher than in January 2021. The eCommerce performance of the site was also outstanding, with revenue from organic traffic increasing 407% since last March and 3,481% since January 2021.

Data from Google Search Console corroborates these results, showing a 480% increase in impressions and a 508% increase in clicks YoY. 91% of clicks are from non-branded queries.
