The Accounting Manager will report directly to the President of the Company and will lead our accounting team. This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing all areas of accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, month-end close, budgeting, analysis, financial reporting, and more. This person will also be a part of the company’s leadership team and help with our future planning and goal management.

Key Responsibilities

  • A/R Supervision: Supervises & assists A/R team in creation of client invoices, deposits, credit card payments; answering client inquiries; reconciling merchant accounts, maintains all A/R files.
  • A/P Supervision: Supervises and assists AP team in processing purchase orders, bills, receipts; Preparing vendor checks; answering vendor inquiries; analyzing vendor accounts and negotiating extended terms; maintains all A/P files.
  • Drives the month-end close process, including assessing the close activities to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for our Periodic Cash Management process.
  • Leads and manages the payroll process and outsourcing through ADP.
  • Manages the accuracy, reconciliation and delivery of our Company KPIs.
  • Coordinates and communicates actions between departments within the company.
  • Researches and resolves accounting transaction questions and other client issues quickly and effectively. Strives to satisfy both internal and external clients. Minimizes referrals to management.
  • Directly supervises accounting team.
  • Reconciles and balances accounts.
  • Prepares and reviews short-term and long-term budgets.
  • Submits monthly state sales tax.
  • Prepares reports that accurately forecast revenue and expenses based on sales and staffing models.
  • Closes out the books quarterly and annually for internal and external review by outside CPA.
  • Ensure financial statements and other management reports are produced accurately, and in compliance with GAAP, on a monthly, quarterly, annually, and on an as-needed basis.
  • Evaluates current accounting practices and policies and develop solutions to drive continuous improvement. Loves process improvement and leads it throughout the company!
  • Prepares and distributes timely applicable tax reporting (e.g., Forms 1099, 1120, etc.).

 

*Aside: We use NetSuite as our accounting platform, and any new hire for this position shall be thoroughly trained to use it. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from 4-year, accredited college
  • 8-10+ years in related experience
  • Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Must have proven management experience
  • Must have proven process improvement experience
  • Experience in professional services-type businesses and third-party/media expense management would be a plus
