Natural Search Specialist

Forthea is seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial and effective Natural Search Specialist to help drive strategy, value and success of our rapidly growing client base. The Natural Search Specialist will be responsible for planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing natural search engine marketing activities. This position is key to future growth and will be responsible for the top-to-bottom management of our clients’ natural search (SEO) activities.

You will be working closely with account management across the company and serve as an integral part of the service organization and the company’s overall growth. Success at Forthea comes from someone who is naturally energetic, entrepreneurial, effective, and humble and who simply hates to lose.

Overall Purpose:

  • Oversees the strategy and execution for all aspects of Forthea’s natural search optimization programs.
  • Provides top-to-bottom natural search optimization strategies and tactical requirements for all digital assets, including: site structure, page construction, site features, site content, keywords, site maps, inbound link generation, ranking referral reports, site audits and more
  • The Natural Search Specialist is a steward of the online planning process and is expected to provide mid-level strategic recommendations to the senior digital and media teams and/or the client. The position is usually supported by the Assistant Specialist and reports to the VP of Operations & Client Services
  • Drive continued innovation and best practice implementation, regularly sharing your knowledge with the marketing team and top executives

Key Areas of Responsibility:

NATURAL SEARCH

  • Drive continued innovation and best practice implementation, regularly sharing your knowledge with the marketing team and top executives
  • Work with all team functions – account management, paid search, development and social media - to implement search engine optimization (SEO) recommendations such as:
    • Keyword research and specifications throughout web site pages
    • Site audits for SEO best practice compliance
    • IA and site design recommendations
    • Navigation and conversion analysis
    • Link analysis and building
  • Integrate strategies and recommendations into other active marketing channels such as Email Marketing and Social Media
  • Provides technical advice of website strategy and development for natural search optimization, including HTML, error pages, re-directs, etc
  • Collaborates cross-divisionally in keyword research and testing to develop holistic term and keyword strategies for continuous natural search traffic and conversion improvements
  • Manages tracking, reporting and analysis of natural search metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Reports findings to cross-divisional audiences of all levels and makes actionable optimization recommendations
  • Monitors trends in search engine algorithms. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of navigation changes and assess how new opportunities in the SEO industry could be leveraged to improve web pages’ search results positioning
  • Monitors competitor sites and the general search engine landscape and marketplace to ensure competitive advantage in natural search
  • Researches and develops natural search optimization best practices to identify new opportunities and maximize program profits with improved organic rankings
  • Works with third party SEO vendor(s) on researching/implementing SEO projects as needed
  • Training of Asst. Specialists and oversight of their deliverables

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years SEO experience with a strong background of planning and optimizing natural search campaigns
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to relate results to client business objectives
  • Proficient at managing projects and able to multi-task, organize, prioritize and structure workload
  • Proficient with Search engine interfaces, tracking tools (analytics) and procedures (both search and online)
  • Excellent client and account service record; track record of accomplishing successful results for clients
  • Experience with writing, presenting and executing effective communications, media or interactive marketing plans
  • Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Marketing, Advertising, PR, Communications, Consulting or similar
  • Minimum Computer Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Minimum Attitude: Superb
