Facebook is currently preparing an impressive launch for Facebook ads, scheduled to happen next week in New York City. Facebook has plans to upgrade their current ad platform to premium ad units on February 29, 2012 – according to the document that leaked earlier this week. Facebook will be modifying each unit permitting to the specific content in which a brand intends to segment. There will be exactly six new units – the said units will consist of: photo, video, question, event, status and link (directly for traffic to chosen sites). What Will the Ads Offer?
The new upgraded ads are said to have significantly improved performance rates and house a considerably larger ad format that will provide additional points of engagement for Facebook users and consumers. With the new platform comes improved purchase intent, remembrance, brand loyalty and engagement – a social marketing endeavor we’ve never seen before.
How Will They Look?
The new premium ad units will be comprised of not only the ‘Like’ button but a comment capacity as well – making it that much easier for the user to convert and engage. When a user ‘likes’ or comments on an ad, the like or comment will automatically appear in the user’s news feed as well as on the brand’s fan page. How’s that for social advertising? Quite extraordinary, if I do say so myself.
Social advertising is on the path of success. As it continues to progress, brands are also beginning to implement mobile advertising tactics. Facebook’s new ad units will drive social advertising to become more viral and real-time oriented. It’s the best for both worlds…
