Forthea Friday – Happy September!

Forthea Friday – Happy September!

August flew by for us here at Forthea, but it was filled with some great experiences and events! We’ve been working so hard and the team has been going above and beyond to meet our company goals for the third quarter. These goals provide the company with clear guidelines as we grow with our clients.

As a reward of hitting our latest milestone, we had a joint happy hour & cupcake party (what can be better?!)! The team celebrated our wins with some delicious Crave Cupcakes and even popped some champagne!

Forthea cupcakesAs an added “Thank You” to the team for their hard work on going the extra mile, Forthea surprised with a lunch catered in the office last week. We decided to change up our typical lunch orders a bit and went with something a little different. After some polling, a few of our team members absolutely love Pappa Geno’s, so we decided to introduce everyone else to their amazing Philly cheese steaks!

Like I said, it’s been a busy month, which includes a couple new interns that began working with us in August for the fall semester. We would like to welcome Lesley and Jackie to the team! Lesley is finishing up her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and will be graduating from the University of Houston in December. Jackie is currently working on his MBA and plans to graduate in May of 2016. We originally planned to bring on one intern for this semester, but both Lesley and Jackie impressed us so much that we had to make room for both to join the team!

Finally, one of our team members, Ryan, went to DefCon last month and talked to the team about the perils of hackers, take it away Ryan:

Conferences can be fun, enlightening, and tiring, but I love to take stock of everything I saw and share it with people. While DefCon may stray little from my typical SEO duties, I’ve been wanting to go to the Las Vegas based conference and it did not disappoint! I learned how to hack into a security feed, how to hack out of an ankle monitoring system, and why cars should not be connected to the internet. Anyway, I had a great time scaring the team into better OpSec and we all got a free lunch out of it, so it’s definitely a win for the team!

If you’re interested in future internships or full-time roles with us, please take a look at our careers page at www.forthea.com/careers. We’re hiring for several new roles right now and would love to hear from you!
